Matsue Suitouro 2025
Matsue Suitouro is a light-up event hosted by the Matsue Light-Up Caravan (within the Matsue Tourism Association), illuminating the area around Matsue Castle. It offers a magical interplay of light and shadow unique to the castle town of Matsue.
The highlight on main event days is the special “Horikawa Night Cruise,” available only once a year.
From the boat, visitors can gaze at the charming streets of Shiomi Nawate, where the lanterns of Suitouro flicker gently. The whole venue is adorned with numerous lanterns creating a warm atmosphere.
