Toide Tanabata Festival 2025
A traditional event held in the Toide district of Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, where about 600 Tanabata decorations adorn the streets as a “Tanabata Tunnel.”
At night, lanterns are lit creating a magical atmosphere. It is known as “Japan’s Most Beautiful Tanabata Festival.” July 7 is also the Boys’ Festival, and families with boys make Tanabata decorations wishing for their healthy growth. This custom has been passed down since the Meiji era to the present day.
