Iizaka Kenka Festival 2025
The Iizaka Kenka Festival is the autumn grand festival of Iizaka Hachiman Shrine in Iizaka Town, Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. Held over three days centered on the first Saturday of October, it is considered one of Japan’s three major fighting festivals. Iizaka Town is divided into six districts, each with its own festival office: Kamimachi, Takinokawa, Wakanishiki, Tatsuzuna, Yokomachi, and Azumahana. Their floats parade around the hot spring town during the three days of Yoi-matsuri (eve festival), Hon-matsuri (main festival), and Ato-matsuri (post festival), immersing the town in festival spirit.
