Mito Komon Festival 2025
The Mito Komon Festival is held every year on the first weekend of August (Saturday and Sunday) in the central shopping areas of Mito City. It is named after Mito Komon, a historical figure associated with the city.
In the past, actors portraying Mito Komon and his entourage, including Akira Nishimura, were invited as guests and paraded through the city in a daimyo procession. Though this was discontinued in the early 1990s, it was revived in 2003 as the Mito Komon Parade.
