Yagorodon Festival 2025
The Yagorodon Festival is held annually on November 3 in Osumi Town, Soo City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
The event features “Yagorodon,” a towering 4.85-meter-tall bamboo-frame figure dressed in 25 rolls of plum-dyed kimono. He carries a 4.24-meter-long sword, a 2.85-meter short sword, and a 3.81-meter spear.
This bold and heroic figure appears from Iwakawa Hachiman Shrine and parades through the town in this time-honored tradition.
