Yosakoi Festival 2025
The Yosakoi Festival is a summer festival held every August in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, centered around dance performances. In 2025, the festival includes a pre-festival on August 9 (Saturday), the main festival on August 10 (Sunday) and August 11 (Monday), and a closing event plus the national Yosakoi competition on August 12 (Tuesday).
YOSAKOI is a style of Japanese festival dance that originated from the Kochi Yosakoi Festival. Following the success of the YOSAKOI Soran Festival in Sapporo, Hokkaido in the 1990s, this dance form spread nationwide in the 2000s, except in Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Odori) and Okinawa Prefecture (Eisa).
