Kouno Fumiyo Exhibition in Kyoto 2025
Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, will host the largest-ever exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of manga artist Kouno Fumiyo’s career from June 8 to July 27, 2025, at the Fukuchiyama Sato Taisei Memorial Museum.
The exhibition features over 500 pieces of original manga artwork, picture book originals, storyboards, notes, and previously unseen footage documenting the production process. Notable works include the hit titles Yuunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni (winner of the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize New Artist Award and the Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Manga Division Grand Prize), In This Corner of the World (Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Manga Division Excellence Award), and the latest work set in Fukuchiyama, Sorairo Shinkyou.
The exhibition began at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (May 2–25) and will tour nationwide following the Fukuchiyama showing.
