“Moe Summit” is a subculture event that started in 2011 in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the hometown of famous Japanese animator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (known for works like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Summer Wars, and Wolf Children).
This event brings together various aspects of Japanese pop culture like anime, manga, games, cosplay, idols, and more, showcasing the unique charm of Yamaguchi, located at the western end of Honshu.
It’s a chance to discover new and exciting things you’ve never seen before. Both visitors and locals can enjoy and energize themselves!
In addition to the annual main event in Shunan, Moe Summit also hosts traveling events and “Moe Summit Shops” throughout Yamaguchi Prefecture.
