Echizen Ono Castle Sakura when 2024
Echizen Ono Castle（located in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture）, known as the “Castle in the Sky,” is situated on Kameyama, where approximately 300 Somei Yoshino cherry trees have been planted. Kameyama Park is renowned as one of the premier cherry blossom viewing spots in Echizen Ono, often referred to as “Little Kyoto in Hokuriku.”
The cherry blossoms at Echizen Ono Castle are typically in full bloom around April, painting Kameyama and its surroundings with vibrant colors. In May, the area features a “Flower Jutan” with Shiba Zakura, covering approximately 20 hectares of rice fields.
Kameyama Park is home to various historical landmarks, including the existing stone walls of the castle keep.
