Dragon Quest Wind Orchestra Concert: Composer Koichi Sugiyama’s Comment
For me, Koichi Sugiyama, the opportunity to have the music of “Dragon Quest” performed by various musical groups in different concerts is truly an honor and a joy. Recently, I had the chance to attend the “Dragon Quest Wind Orchestra Concert” by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra.
The wind ensemble arrangements were done by Shigetaka Shima, a leading composer in the world of Japanese wind music, and they were truly magnificent. The melodies are cool and sparkling. It feels like an expanse of ocean of sound unfolding right before your eyes. Moreover, the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra is a top-notch orchestra that serves as a role model for wind orchestras nationwide. The performers were spirited, and their enthusiasm got me dancing in my heart, filling me with energy.
I encourage you to experience the live performance of “Dragon Quest” arranged by Shigetaka Shima. We look forward to welcoming you at the concert.
