Momoko Sakura Exhibition, Nagoya Venue
We are pleased to announce an exhibition dedicated to the extraordinary artist Sakura Momoko, who has worn various hats as a manga artist, essayist, lyricist, and scriptwriter, continuously creating new characters and essays.
Starting its serialization in 1986 and becoming a beloved national manga for people of all ages since its anime adaptation in 1990, “Chibi Maruko-chan” holds a special place in the hearts of many. Following this success, Sakura Momoko’s debut essay, “Momono Kanzume,” published in 1991, became a massive bestseller, surpassing 2.5 million copies. This exhibition presents numerous representative works with an unprecedented volume, featuring original hand-drawn manuscripts and color illustrations.
While fully enjoying the processes of “drawing” and “writing” and leading a busy life, Sakura Momoko cherished the changing seasons and the simple joys of everyday life. This exhibition is designed to showcase all aspects of her charm.
We invite you to come and experience an exhibition that delves into the enduring sensibilities of Sakura Momoko, a creator whose brilliance continues to shine.
