*The Man Who Claims to Have Repeated April 11 Twelve Hundred Times” Overview:

“The Man Who Claims to Have Repeated April 11 Twelve Hundred Times” is a recitation play scheduled to take place from June to July 2024. Hosted by Hiroshi Kamiya, the event will be held at Mixalive TOKYO Theater Mixa in Tokyo.

This recitation play is part of a project where multiple directors freely “cook” a single story, with each director taking on a leading role. Seiji Mizushima will direct the play from June 14 (Fri) to June 16 (Sun), and Kazuhiro Wakabayashi will direct on June 28, 2024.

This project is based on the work owned by Tetsu Ogawa and Kodansha.

 

 

 

 

Event Overview:

In a unique project focusing on the art of “direction,” professionals from various fields, including sound directors, film directors, and stage directors, interpret the “original work” after reading it. They then freely direct aspects such as casting, sound, lighting, music, and acting. This project emphasizes the role of “direction.”

The project is conceived and produced by Hiroshi Kamiya, bringing together a series of recitation plays that will make audiences want to see each performance. Directors from different genres, including Seiji Mizushima and Kazuhiro Wakabayashi, will offer their interpretations on the stage.
