Aizuwakamatsu Castle Autumn leaves When 2024
Tsurugajo Castle, adorned with red tiles reminiscent of the Bakumatsu period, is a captivating sight. During the autumn foliage season, the surrounding mountains, framing the Aizu Plain, transform into vibrant hues of red, presenting a beautiful spectacle. Typically, the foliage begins to show its colors in late October, with maples, cherry blossoms, ginkgo trees, and more reaching their peak beauty in early November.
Highlighted attraction: The digital art exhibition “Tsurugajo: A Scroll of Light and History” is now open. This interactive museum, located in the Minamisashi Nagaya and Kanban Yagura structures, immerses visitors in the history of Tsurugajo Castle. The exhibition is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM), and admission fees are 410 yen for adults (high school and above) and 150 yen for children (elementary and middle school students). (Note: The combined entry ticket for the digital art exhibition and the tea room “Rinkaku” is 520 yen for adults and 150 yen for children.)
