Akita Kanto Festival 2025
The Akita Kanto Festival is a traditional event held annually from August 3 to 6 in Akita City, Akita Prefecture. The word “Kanto” refers to the tall bamboo poles decorated with lanterns, which are skillfully balanced by performers. The festival’s official name is “Akita Kanto Matsuri.”
