Beppu Benten Pond Autumn leaves when 2024
別府弁天池 (Beppu Benten Pond) , located in Akiyoshi-cho, Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is known for its beautiful autumn foliage, with late November being the peak viewing time. The contrast between the cobalt blue pond and the autumn leaves is stunning, making it a popular spot and also recognized as a power spot.
The pond is filled with spring water containing calcium, and its beautiful blue color is the result of sunlight reflecting off the water. With high transparency, it gushes out at a rate of about 186 liters per second, approximately 11 tons per minute.
Designated as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Springs by the Environmental Agency on July 20, 1985, Bepu Benten Ike is utilized for irrigation and trout farming. The spring water is drinkable, and there is a dedicated water supply station for visitors to enjoy the clear and refreshing water.
