Gintama Original Exhibition “20th Anniversary Gintama Exhibition” in Ikebukuro

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “SF Jidaigeki Comedy” manga “Gintama” by Hideaki Sorachi, the original exhibition “Gintama Exhibition: Celebration of the 20th Anniversary – Meeting at Twenty” is set to be held in Ikebukuro at Sunshine City during the winter of 2024. The announcement was made during “Jump Festa 2024,” which took place on December 17, 2023, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

In conjunction with the announcement of the “Gintama Exhibition,” the “Gintama 20th Anniversary All-Character Popularity Poll” has been initiated. Characters ranking in the top 20 will be featured in a new illustration by Hideaki Sorachi, serving as the key visual for the exhibition. The exhibition will include displays and the sale of original merchandise featuring the winning characters.

For those who may have forgotten some characters from “Gintama,” a special campaign, the “Gintama Maximum 40-Volume Free Release Campaign,” will run from December 18, 2023, to January 31, 2024. The campaign will be divided into two periods: Period 1 (December 18, 2023, to January 9, 2024) and Period 2 (January 10 to January 31, 2024), with 20 volumes released sequentially during each period.
