Goshinkosai 2024
The Goshinko Festival (Summer Purification Festival), held at the Usa Jingu Shrine in Usa City, Oita Prefecture, takes place annually from July 31st to August 2nd. The scheduled dates for the 2024 festival are from July 31st to August 2nd.
The Goshinko Festival is a summer festival dedicated to prayers for the well-being of the nation and its people, as well as the prevention of epidemics and disasters. It involves the divine palanquin carrying the sacred object from the main hall to the Tonomiya, creating a majestic spectacle. On the final day, a purification fireworks display adorns the night sky.
