A valley with various pools and waterfalls of different sizes. In the area around the Shiomimidaki Suspension Bridge, starting from the Kotakizawa Campground, the maples and other trees exhibit stunning autumn colors, creating a vivid and picturesque landscape. Crossing the 60-meter suspension bridge, you’ll be treated to a view of the Shiomimidaki Waterfall below, with branches of trees along the clear stream of Hanakuragawa extending from both sides, allowing you to experience the autumn foliage up close. Typically, the best time to view the autumn foliage is from mid to late November.
Highlights of the area include well-maintained hiking trails that allow you to leisurely enjoy the views of the valley and autumn foliage. The period from November 1st (Wednesday) to November 30th (Thursday) is designated as the Hanakura Valley Autumn Foliage Festival. Additionally, from November 11th (Saturday) to November 26th (Sunday) in 2023, there are plans to hold a lighting event.
