Hida Takayama autumn leaves when 2024

In Hida Takayama, the autumn foliage typically reaches its peak from early October to late November each year. In the Okuhida Onsen area, you can enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn from early to late October. Due to the difference in elevation, around October 20th, you can witness the stunning scenery of the Northern Alps covered in fresh snow against the backdrop of the clear blue sky and autumn foliage.

Moreover, at the Hirayu Pass, which spans from Takayama City’s Tannokawa Town to the Okuhida Onsen area and has an elevation of 1684 meters, the autumn foliage begins around the time of the Autumn Takayama Festival (October 9th and 10th).

As for the large ginkgo tree at Hida Kokubunji, it reaches its autumn foliage finale from mid to late November.
