Kagoshima Kinko Bay Summer Night Fireworks Festival 2024
The “Kagoshima Kinjo Bay Summer Night Grand Fireworks Festival” (Kagoshima Kinjowan Samaa Naito Daihanabi Taikai) is an annual fireworks event held in the Kagoshima Port Honkou area, facing Sakurajima. The event is organized by Kagoshima City and typically takes place on a Saturday in mid to late August.
Overview:
This festival boasts one of the largest fireworks displays in Kyushu. The fireworks show is broadcast live on radio (collaboration between Friends FM and FM Satsumasendai, and Southern Japan Broadcasting). In 2008, fireworks themed after NHK’s historical drama “Atsuhime” were launched. Special sightseeing boats are available, allowing spectators to enjoy the fireworks from the sea.
