Kasugataisha Shrine Autumn leaves When 2024
The peak time for autumn foliage at Kasuga Taisha Shrine is typically from late November to early December each year. The contrast between the vermilion-painted main hall and the vibrant colors of the ginkgo trees along the southern corridor is particularly stunning.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine was established at the foot of Mount Mikasa during the Nara period to serve as the protector of Heijokyo, the capital at that time. The shrine is surrounded by corridors on almost all sides, and four National Treasure main halls are lined up.
Situated within Nara Park, Kasuga Taisha Shrine is part of a historical area that includes landmarks like Todaiji Temple.
