Kinugawa Onsen Autumn leaves When 2024

Renowned for the pinnacle of gorge beauty created by Mother Nature, the iconic “Kinugawa River Boat Ride” is a must-try attraction along the Kinugawa River. Adorned with vibrant azaleas in spring and featuring refreshing greenery in summer, the boat journey is a canvas painted with the ever-changing seasons. Particularly in autumn, the boat ride becomes a stunning experience as the surroundings are enveloped in beautiful foliage, reaching its peak from mid-October to early November.

This adventure allows you to revel in the beauty of nature and experience the powerful boat journey. Please note that when boarding, wearing a life jacket is mandatory. Additionally, operations may be suspended without prior notice due to inclement weather or extreme fluctuations in river water levels.

Highlights: The boat pier is just a 4-minute walk from Tobu Kinugawa Onsen Station. With 12 departures daily, the boat ride covers approximately 6 km from Kinugawa Port to Kinugawa-Omatsuriyama Port, offering a 40-minute journey. Skilfully guided by the boatman on a traditional Japanese boat, you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking gorge beauty shaped by the Kinugawa River’s natural wonders.
