Kiryu Yagibushi Festival 2025


The Kiryu Yagibushi Festival, also known as the Kiryu Festival, is a major summer event held in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. It combines the traditional Kiryu Gion Festival honoring Gozu Tenno (Susanoo-no-Mikoto) with two large-scale events: the All-Japan Yagibushi Competition and the Kiryu Yagibushi Dance Showcase. The festival is named after “Yagibushi,” a well-known folk song from the Ryomo region.
