Kiyotsu Gorge Best season when 2023 ~ 2024

Kiyotsu Gorge, located in Niigata Prefecture, is a captivating destination that can be enjoyed throughout the year, but its most popular season is during the autumn foliage. The foliage typically begins in mid-October, reaching its peak from late October to early November.

The gorge experiences significant temperature variations, causing the leaves of the trees to transition from light green to yellow, adorned with touches of red. Due to its canyon structure, the foliage starts changing color from the upper reaches, allowing for a relatively extended period to appreciate the autumn colors.

At the Panorama Station, located at the far end of the Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel, you can witness a stunning reflection of the large V-shaped canyon in the mirrored waters. The addition of amenities such as a cafe and footbath at the entrance enhances the overall experience, making it an even more enjoyable spot.
