This pond and stream-style Japanese garden spans over 30,000 square meters, exuding the ambiance of the Edo period and serving as a popular location for the filming of historical dramas and movies.

During the autumn season, you can delight in various points of autumn foliage within the garden, such as Shion-sai and Tsukiyama Chisen, offering picturesque views of a waterfall and a large pond against the borrowed landscape of Himeyama forest. Notable autumn foliage spots include Shion-sai and Tsukiyama Chisen, where you can enjoy views of a large waterfall and pond amidst the vibrant hues of fall. Additionally, at the Kassuiken within the garden, you can savor a meal while admiring the autumn leaves. The peak period for autumn foliage typically falls from mid to late November.

 

Highlights:

The garden features nine distinct areas, each capturing a unique aspect reminiscent of the Edo period. It is frequently chosen as a location for filming movies and dramas, offering an atmosphere rich in character. During the period from November 17th (Friday) to December 3rd (Sunday) in 2023, the Momiji Kai (Autumn Foliage Viewing) event will take place. Throughout this period, the opening hours will be extended until 8:00 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy the illuminated autumn foliage within the garden after sunset, creating a magical and enchanting scene different from the daytime experience.
