Kurama no Himatsuri 2024
The Kurama no Himatsuri (鞍馬の火祭) is one of the annual festivals of the Yuki Shrine located in Kurama, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is considered one of Kyoto’s three major extraordinary festivals.
During this festival, parishioners parade through various parts of the community carrying torches, swords, and the sacred palanquin’s ropes. They march towards the mountain gate of the shrine amidst the bonfires that are lit throughout the village.
