Mihara Yassa festival 2024
三原やっさ祭り (Mihara Yassa Matsuri) is an annual summer festival held in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, spanning three days from Friday to Sunday, including the second Sunday of August. As one of the representative summer festivals in the Chugoku region, it attracts a lively crowd of over 400,000 people.
The main highlight of the festival is the “Yassa Odori” dance, which takes place on Friday and Saturday. Approximately 7,000 dancers parade around the Mihara Station area on the designated dance course, chanting “Yassa, Yassa” starting around 5:00 PM. The festival reaches its climax on the final day, Sunday, with a spectacular fireworks display.
The Mihara Yassa Matsuri in 2023 is scheduled to be held from August 11th (Friday) to August 13th (Sunday).
