Mikurigaike Pond Autumn leaves when 2024

The autumn foliage around Mikurigaike Pond is typically at its peak from mid-September to early October. The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is renowned for having one of the earliest autumn foliage seasons in Japan, along with Hokkaido’s Daisetsuzan. Due to the significant elevation difference of 1,975 meters, visitors can enjoy the changing colors of the foliage at different times.

Mikurigaike Pond offers hiking trails suitable for beginners, making it an excellent choice for foliage trekking. To fully appreciate the autumn colors around Murododaira, a recommended activity is a roughly two-hour foliage hike that includes Mikurigaike Pond, Midorigaike Pond, and Raicho-zawa.
