The breathtaking autumn foliage that paints the 5 km-long gorge is a spectacular sight. Stretching from Tenjin Mori to Senga Falls, the gorge covers approximately 5 km, and due to the differences in elevation, the timing of the foliage varies slightly along the route. This staggered timing allows visitors to enjoy the autumn colors for over a month. Additionally, the foliage along the Norobanari Forest Road upstream of the Arakawa Dam in Yamanashi Prefecture and the Itajiki Gorge is also stunning.

Highlights: Shosenkyo Gorge boasts such a picturesque landscape that it was recognized as a Japan Heritage site in the Reiwa 2nd year. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the gorge, featuring granite cliffs sculpted over many years, unique rocks and boulders, and a clear and abundant water flow. The autumn foliage, especially when viewed from the walking trail along the gorge, is truly a sight to behold.
