Morioka Sansa Odori 2025
The Morioka Sansa Odori is a festival held annually in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture from August 1 to 4. It is one of the earliest summer festivals in the Tohoku region. Originally a three-day event, it has been extended to four days in recent years due to an increase in participating groups. Since it has a relatively short history among the major festivals of the six Tohoku prefectures, Iwate promotes it as one of the “Five Great Festivals of Tohoku” to distinguish it from the traditional “Three Great Festivals of Tohoku.”
