Myogi Shrine Autumn leaves When 2024
Enjoy the vibrant autumn foliage enhancing the dynamic mountain scenery. Mt. Myogi in Gunma Prefecture, collectively known as the Myogi Sanzan, includes the mountains Hakunenzan, Kondo-zan, and Kinkeizan. It is one of the “Three Mountains of Joshu.” The landscape, woven with bizarre rocks and strange stones, is considered one of Japan’s Three Bizarre Sceneries. The contrast between rugged rock surfaces and colorful trees is stunning, making the autumn foliage season particularly popular.
One notable spot is the Myogi Panorama Park area along the Myogi Autumn Foliage Line (Prefectural Route 196), which connects Tomioka City and Shimonita Town. Here, you can not only enjoy breathtaking views but also explore various attractions such as hot springs, Michi-no-Eki (roadside stations), and the newly renovated Myogi Visitor Center opened in the summer of 2023.
Highlights: Within the Myogi Panorama Park, the day-use hot spring “Myogi Friendship Plaza Myogi Onsen Momiji no Yu” offers the opportunity to view autumn foliage from an outdoor bath.
