Autumn Leaves Boat Tour in Nagatoro Town

Embark on a scenic boat tour down the Arakawa River, flowing through Nagatoro Town, where you can enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage reflecting on the water. The riverside showcases stunning maple, oak, and oakleaf varieties during the fall season. Additionally, the rocky formations spanning 500 meters, known as the “Iwadatami,” are designated as a national scenic spot and natural monument, offering breathtaking views, especially during the autumn foliage season.

The peak time for viewing autumn leaves is typically from early to late November. Nagatoro Town boasts various spots scattered throughout, allowing you to leisurely appreciate the autumn colors by taking trains, boats, or a ropeway.

 

Highlights:

• The Nagatoro Autumn Leaves Festival is held from November 1st (Wednesday) to November 30th (Thursday) in 2023.
• As part of the festival, the annual illumination of Tsuki no Ishi Momiji Park takes place. Between November 10th (Friday) and November 23rd (National Holiday), approximately 150 LED lights illuminate the park from 16:00 to 21:00, creating a fantastical world by casting light on the maple and other trees from below.
