Ohara Festival 2025
The Ohara Festival is the largest dance festival in southern Kyushu, held every year on November 2 and 3 in Kagoshima City.
Recognized as one of the three major festivals of Kagoshima, this autumn tradition attracts over 20,000 dancers who parade from Takamibaba intersection through Izuro intersection to Sanbashi Street.
They perform lively dances such as “Kagoshima Ohara-bushi,” “Kagoshima Hanya-bushi,” and “Shibuya Ondo.” In addition to the grand group dances, many side events and performances take place. The festival includes both a night celebration (on Nov. 2) and the main festival (on Nov. 3).
