Okinawa All-Island Eisa Festival 2025
The Okinawa All-Island Eisa Festival is held annually on the first weekend after the traditional Bon holidays. It began in 1956 to commemorate the founding of Koza City (now Okinawa City) as the All-Island Eisa Competition. Today, it stands as one of Japan’s iconic summer festivals.
Youth groups selected from across Okinawa’s main island, along with guests from sister cities and supporting organizations around the country, come together to perform. Visitors can enjoy the full essence of authentic Eisa dance through the powerful rhythms of the sanshin, drums, and vocals.
