Owara Kaze no Bon Festival 2025
From September 1 to 3 every year, soft lantern lights glow throughout the town. Dancers dressed in matching happi coats and yukatas, wearing woven hats, perform dances to the accompaniment of shamisen and kokyu music, parading through the streets.
September 1 is the 210th day after the start of spring and coincides with typhoon season, traditionally regarded as a day of wind disasters. The festival is held to pray for a bountiful harvest and protection from wind calamities, hence its name “Kaze no Bon” (Bon of the Wind).
