Philosopher’s Path Autumn leaves when 2024
The peak time for autumn foliage along the Philosopher’s Path is typically from late November to early December each year. During this period, cherry blossoms (sakura) and Japanese maple trees (iroha momiji) showcase their vibrant autumn colors.
The Philosopher’s Path is a scenic walking trail along the watercourse from Wakaoji to Ginkaku-ji in Kyoto. It earned its name “Philosopher’s Path” because the philosopher Nishida Kitaro walked along this route, contemplating his philosophical thoughts. While renowned for cherry blossoms in spring, the path is also famous for its maple trees turning vivid shades of red and orange in the autumn season.
