Ryujin Otsuri Bridge Autumn leaves When 2024
Admire the Nishiki-dyed Ryujin Gorge from the expansive suspension bridge.
Ryujin Gorge is a V-shaped valley created by the erosive action of the Ryujin River, and it boasts the magnificent Ryujin Otsuri Bridge suspended over 100 meters above the downstream, dammed by the Ryujin Dam. This pedestrian suspension bridge is one of Japan’s largest, measuring an impressive 375 meters. From the length of the aerial corridor, visitors can take in panoramic views of the ever-changing beauty of nature throughout the four seasons. In autumn, the gorge transforms into a splendid tapestry of colors, and on clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of the autumn foliage on the distant Abukuma Mountain Range.
Highlights of the area include hiking trails along the gorge and surroundings, adorned with vibrant red and yellow autumn leaves. Additionally, visitors can fully enjoy the autumn season with the newly harvested soba noodles. The “Ryujin Gorge Autumn Foliage Festival” is scheduled to take place from November 1st (Wednesday) to November 30th (Thursday) in 2023.
