SAGA International Balloon Fiesta 2024
The ‘Saga International Balloon Fiesta’ is an annual hot air balloon competition held in the autumn along the Kasegawa River in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the largest events of its kind not only in Japan but also in Asia, boasting a significant number of participating balloons.
Overview: As a hot air balloon competition, it attracts participants from over a dozen countries. This year, they bring 128 balloons. Over the years, the event has hosted the Hot Air Balloon World Championship three times (in 1989, 1997, and 2016) and has held the Japanese Hot Air Balloon Championship 26 times out of 35 (as of 2018).
