Sawara Grand Festival 2025 – Summer Festival
The Sawara Grand Festival, held in the city center of Sawara in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, is a traditional event consisting of the Honjuku Gion Festival in July (summer) and the Shinjuku Autumn Festival in October.
It is regarded as one of the three major festivals in the Kanto region, alongside the Kawagoe Hikawa Festival and the Hitachinokuni Sosha-gu Grand Festival (Ishioka Festival).
In December 2016, it was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
