Sendai Tanabata Festival 2025

The Sendai Tanabata Festival is an annual event held in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, to celebrate the traditional Japanese star festival, Tanabata—one of the five seasonal festivals (gosekku). It is considered one of the “Three Great Festivals of Tohoku,” along with the Aomori Nebuta Festival and Akita Kanto Festival.
