Shikoku Karst Autumn leaves When 2024
The autumn foliage in the Shikoku Karst varies in its peak viewing time depending on the elevation and location, but generally, the most beautiful period is considered to be from late October to early November. Particularly, Tengu Kogen, located at the eastern edge of the Shikoku Karst, is a spot not to be missed.
Tengu Kogen, centered around the 1485m high Tengu no Moriyama summit, has various well-maintained walking trails, making it an ideal destination for hiking amid the autumn colors. In the valleys within the Shikoku Karst Prefectural Natural Park, more than 20 types of maple trees add vibrant hues during the fall season. Moreover, in a roughly 1.5km-long trail within a pristine valley with untouched nature, you can enjoy various autumn colors, including deep red, orange, and yellow.
