Skura Momoko Exhibition Tokyo Venue 2024

We are pleased to announce an exhibition dedicated to the extraordinary artist Sakura Momo, who has worn multiple hats as a manga artist, essayist, lyricist, and screenwriter, continuously creating new characters and essays.

The exhibition will highlight the iconic manga “Chibi Maruko-chan,” which began serialization in 1986 and became a beloved national manga for audiences of all ages since its anime adaptation in 1990. Following this success, Sakura Momo’s debut essay, “Momono Kanzume,” published in 1991, became a massive bestseller with over 2.5 million copies sold. This exhibition will showcase numerous representative works in an unprecedented volume, featuring handwritten manuscripts and color illustrations.

Sakura Momo, amidst her busy schedule, found joy in both “drawing” and “writing,” deeply appreciating the changing seasons and the small moments of everyday life. The exhibition aims to deliver the full charm of Sakura Momo’s creativity.
