Sanno Festival 2026

The Sanno Festival is held at Hie Shrine in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Its official name is the “Hie Shrine Grand Festival.” Along with the Kanda Festival, it is considered one of the Tenka Festivals, and together with the Fukagawa Festival, it is counted among the Three Great Festivals of Edo. The main festival is currently held in mid-June every other year, but before the Meiji era, it was celebrated on the 15th day of the 6th month of the old lunar calendar.
