The Tadami Line (Tadami-sen) is a local railway line operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), connecting Aizu-Wakamatsu Station in Fukushima Prefecture to Koide Station in Niigata Prefecture. The total length of the line is approximately 135 km, with 36 stations along its route.
Running through mountainous terrain, the Tadami Line offers breathtaking scenery throughout the changing seasons. The winter views along the line, in particular, are considered exceptional. Additionally, the area along the line features hot spring resorts close to nature and valuable railway facilities recognized as civil engineering heritage.
The Tadami Line is a single-track, non-electrified railway, with a maximum speed of 65 km/h. There are only three trains that operate through the entire line from Koide Station to Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, and the complete journey takes approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes.
