Takasago Lantern Festival 2024
The “Takasago Mantō Matsuri” is an event held in Takasago Town, Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture. In 2024, it took place on September 14 (Saturday) and 15 (Sunday).
This event originated in 2006 when Takasago Town was designated as a historic scenic area in Hyogo Prefecture. The festival is known for the illumination of approximately 6,000 “lantern candles” arranged by local volunteers. The candles light up, creating a magical atmosphere in the historically rich town, often described as stars falling over the streets.
The festival is held in the area south of Takasago Station on the Sanyo Electric Railway, and the event takes place from 18:00 to 21:00.
