Takayama Autumn Festival 2025
The Takayama Festival is the collective name for two annual shrine festivals held in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture: the Hie Shrine Spring Sanno Festival on April 14-15, and the Sakurayama Hachimangu Autumn Festival on October 9-10.
Famous for the procession of “yatai” floats through the city streets, it is counted among Japan’s three major float festivals alongside Kyoto’s Gion Festival and Saitama’s Chichibu Night Festival.
It is designated as an Important Tangible and Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
