To no Hetsuri Autumn leaves When 2024
The towering rocks resembling towers, stretching for about 100 meters, form a national designated natural monument known as “Hetsuri.” In the local dialect, “hetsuri” refers to cliffs or steep slopes approaching a river. Over a million years, the cliffs along the river have undergone erosion and weathering, creating a powerful and captivating landscape. Among the popular spots along the Great River Line featuring unique rocks, cliffs, and rapid currents, Hetsuri stands out as a particularly beloved location for autumn foliage.
The peak of autumn foliage is usually from late October, where maple and oak trees cover the cliffs with vibrant colors. A notable attraction is the suspension bridge hanging over the cliffs, allowing visitors to traverse and walk along the arcades carved into the rocks.
