Tsukubasan Shrine Autumn leaves When 2024
Tsukuba-san Shrine is a historic shrine located on the slope of Mount Tsukuba. It venerates Mount Tsukuba itself as the main deity, carrying on a tradition of worship that dates back to ancient times.
The autumn foliage on Mount Tsukuba typically begins around late October each year. The trees gradually change color from the summit downwards, reaching their peak in November. Particularly renowned is the foliage around the cable car station, Miyanomuki Station, near Tsukuba-san Shrine.
Mount Tsukuba is one of Japan’s low-altitude “Hyakumeizan” (Hundred Famous Mountains), consisting of two peaks known as Mount Nantai and Mount Nyotai. The area from the summit to Goshikinuma Pond features a variety of deciduous trees, including beech trees, allowing visitors to enjoy the autumn foliage from early November.
