Utsunomiya Fireworks Festival 2025
The Utsunomiya Fireworks Festival began in 1984 under the name “’84 Tochigi Expo Kinugawa Grand Fireworks.” Initially hosted and sponsored by local companies, the event was unfortunately discontinued after 2003 due to a local economic downturn.
A Volunteer-Led Revival
Four years later in 2007, a group of passionate volunteers formed an executive committee with the hope of “lighting up the Utsunomiya night sky again.” Their efforts led to an extraordinary revival of the festival, now run entirely by volunteers.
