Masamune Shirou’s World Exhibition ~Ghost in the Shell and the Trajectory of Creation~ 2025
Masamune Shirou, the creator of the enthusiastically popular “Ghost in the Shell,” made his major debut in 1985 with the sci-fi manga “Appleseed” and began serializing “Ghost in the Shell” in 1989. The worldview that seems to foresee the modern information society, incorporating cutting-edge technology that had not yet penetrated the world at that time with a unique sense, has fascinated many people.
The detailed drawings, the plot with a huge amount of information, and the artist’s words that extend to the “margins” give the work a sense of enthusiasm and stimulate the reader’s imagination. Many creators have been influenced by Masamune Shirou’s worldview, which incorporates philosophical explorations, and continue to create works in various genres.
